Happy Halloween!

We spent several days celebrating Halloween this year. I took the kids to Halloween Fun Fest at the mall on Thursday night. Wes had parent teacher conferences so I was on my own. I was a little nervous because Finn wasn't real keen on wearing his costume. He had taken most of it off before we left the house and I was worried that Mia might get to crying ncontrollably like she sometimes does. However, I had nothing to worry about. Both kids did great. Finn held my hand the whole time and Mia just laid there looking up at me. Their costumes were a big hit. We got several compliments. I'm a bit biased, but I thought they were the cutest kids there.

October Fun

Let's roll! Finn actually asked us to put his helmet and sunglasses on before we left. We hadn't even considered it. He doesn't need us - he's raising himself.

We decided to go to the Ghost Train in Monticello. Finn is obssessed with trains right now and we have been wanting to take him to the train museum in Monticello so this seemed like the perfect excuse. They also have a Polar Express package for Christmas where kids are encouraged to wear pajamas. They read the book on the train and Santa comes through and gives each child a bell. That one costs $25 each so we'll wait a few years before we do that.

After the train ride, we went to visit Great Grandmother Miller so she could meet Mia. This is Finn's big cheesey grin.

One Month Old!

Miss Mia is a very healthy little girl and is gaining weight like a champ. Her 1 month stats are: Length - 21.5 inches (64th percentile); weight - 8 lbs 11 oz (39th percentile). She was in th 14th percentile in weight at 5 days old. Her head circumference is 21st percentile. Wes likes to say our kids have "pea-heads" and I guess the data supports that claim. Happy 1 month Mia Marie!

Sibling Bonding

Finn certainly loves his little sister. He likes to hold her - "Hold Mia?" and love up on her - "Kiss Mia?" He's sure to give her a kiss every morning when he leaves for daycare and every afternoon when he gets home. He brings her the pacifier when he comes across one and even tries to share his toys,

That being said, having a new baby in the house has definitely been an adjustment for him. He has always been used to having our undivided attention. Now that he has to share our attention he has tried out some new tactics like crying. He's a smart one. He knows when Mia cries she gets our attention, so he tries it out, too. He also started getting out of his bed at night and during naptime. We set a pack & play up in his room and if he gets up, he gets to sleep in that. Overall, Finn is doing a great job dealing with all the changes. He is such a good boy!

Sleepy Days

Mia's sleepiness is contagious. Everytime she fell asleep on us, we couldn't seem to stay awake. Can't beat snuggling that sweet girl.
