Naptime

Finn has successfully transitioned back into the toddler bed for both nap and bedtime. After Mia joined the family, he had to start sleeping in the pack and play because he wouldn't stay in bed and was refusing to nap. Now that we've made the transition (again), Wes is especially looking forward to putting the full sized bed together, but I'm holding him off for awhile. I don't want to throw things off again.

I went in to get Finn up from his nap the other day because it was 3:30 and I didn't want him to sleep too late and this is what I saw. I had to go back downstairs to get the camera because this was such a precious sight. He's got The Hungry Giant on his pillow which he must have been reading in bed and and he's got a good snuggle going with his wubby. So sweet!

Happy 4 Months Miss Mia!

And what a happy girl she is! Healthy, too. We went to see Dr. Schuster and she was a champ for her shots. She weighed in at 14lbs 2oz (64th percentile) and measured 25 inches long (78th percentile). We're going to wait to introduce cereal for at least another month or two. She is still waking once a night to eat. I could probably wean her off that with a final feeding before I go to bed, but since I'm trying to pump a good stock of milk to freeze, a late night feeding won't work. I also remember with Finn that at some point I just gave him his pacifier when he woke to eat and he eventually gave up the middle of the night feeding. Maybe I'll try that...

She is still sleeping in the bassinet next to our bed - mainly because of the aforementioned middle of the night feeding, but we'll have to move her to the crib soon since she's only got about an inch to spare right now. She's growing so fast!

Mini Wes

Wes was cleanig out the basement and found this shirt that his Uncle Randy got for him when he was a little kid. He wanted his mini-me to take a picture wearing it. I'll have to hunt down a picture of Wes wering it so we can make a comparison.

Rendezvous in Louisville

This was a tough year for scheduling the Miller Christmas at the holiday house. For various reasons, we were only able to meet for a weekend so we decided to meet up in Louisville. First stop, Gattiland. Jer was more excited about this than the children. After some subpar pizza from a buffet, we hit the game room.

Mia was a very god girl and rolled around while her brother played.
A successful, tear free ride on the merry-go-round. Look we even got a smile!

Day 2, stop 2 - Louisville Science Museum.

And we knocked it down.

Stop 3, Louisville Slugger Museum. The rest of the gang stayed at the museum for an Imax movie, but we decided to head across the street to the Louisville Slugger museum before taking the kids back for naps.

We didn't take the tour because both kids were tired. There wasn't a ton to see, but it was a nice little stop. The gift shop was under renovation so everything was on sale. We scored some cheap souveneirs and Wes decided Finn needed his very own bat - mini and full sized. Mia got a shirt. I got a magnet to add to my collection and Wes got a hat and shirt.

Finn loved this little batting cage area. He loved it so much that when we decided it was time to leave, he had a bit of a meltdown. Wes and I found ourselves laughing hysterically in the lobby of the museum as we unsuccessfully wrestled a 2 year old trying to get his coat on. He even tried to use his mini bat against us. We definitely pushed the limits with naptime.
